Coronavirus (COVID-19) Considerations
Special Note: "All individuals who are at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 should stay at home, unless traveling outside the home for an essential activity". Please visit CDC website for more information about higher risk individuals, and essential activities. This [above] "does not apply to any individuals who are fully vaccinated (someone who is at least two weeks beyond receiving a full administration of COVID-19 vaccine)".
Northwest Driving Academy shall conduct day-to-day business operations based on the CDC recommendations, and specifically proclamation orders and directions from the office of Gov. John Bel Edwards.
Including the following:
"...the statewide face covering mandate is no longer in effect. However, all individuals, especially those most vulnerable and those who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, are still strongly encouraged to wear face coverings while interacting with members of the public".
"...operators of private businesses and organizations shall retain the authority to issue more restrictive measures than that imposed by the State, including requiring members of the public to wear face coverings"...
Northwest Driving Academy classroom Drivers Education instructor(s):
The Instructor in the classroom, "any individual giving a speech...to an audience", shall not be required to wear a face covering.
Students in the classroom setting:
Students should bring a face covering and are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings over their nose and mouth; especially those who are at higher risk, and/or those who have not been fully vaccinated (at least two weeks beyond receiving a full administration of COVID-19 vaccine), except when "consuming food or drinks". Masks will not be provided.
NOTE: The parent/guardian(s) should discuss with his/her student the expectation of the extent of the student's use of personal protective measures in the classroom setting. NWDA will not question students regarding their individual risk factors, nor COVID-19 Vaccination status.
Behind-the-wheel training: Students MUST bring and wear a mask in the vehicles.
"All individuals shall wear a face covering over the nose and mouth while passengers and operators of public conveyances, including...ride-shares, and the corresponding transportation hubs."
