​Louisiana TIP Card Requirements

 Adult Students (18 years old and older)

• Original or State Certified Birth Certificate (no photocopies)
• Social Security Card

Q:  Do you already have a LA State ID?  If applicant has a valid Louisiana State ID already issued and their Social Security Number is in OMV’s system, then only the LA State ID is needed.

*NOTE:  If your current Address is not on your LA State ID, a proof of residence will also be required, ex. a utility bill in your name or a printed pay stub.

Seats are RESERVED only with minimum of $155.

​FAQ 

Q:  "What happens if I cannot pay the balance for the Behind-the-Wheel portion on the morning of the Classroom portion?  

A:   No worries.  Adult students may make arrangements to delay payment of the Balance for a limited time, however please be aware that the Behind-the-wheel (Driving) Sessions can not be scheduled until that portion of the class has been paid so this may delay your first drive date.

Lunch break...
Q:  "Will students take a lunch break?"
A:  We will take a short break approximately half way through the class.  Students may eat quietly during the instruction period as well.  Students may bring a lunch and drink (refrigerator and microwave are available).  Due to the short break period, leaving the premises during lunch is discouraged as the course will resume promptly at after the break.

LA DRIVER'S GUIDE

Adult General Course Info

Classroom time: 8 am - 2:30 pm (or as otherwise announced). 
This course consists of a brief registration period, 6 hours class presentation, and brief break.  This class covers Introduction to driving, vehicle operation, avoiding accidents and injury, traffic laws, driver behavior, sharing the road respectably and responsibly, defensive driving, DWI avoidance and more.   

​Behind-the-wheel portion (BTW):
This course includes 8 hours 'behind-the-wheel' (driving practice) portion.  The BTW portion provides hands-on training in the topics taught in the classroom portion. 

Drive sessions are typically (4) - 2-hour sessions.  Typically our Adult Students drive between the hours of 9 am and 2:30 pm.  If you require an alternate schedule, please let us prior to enrollment.  When available, Adult students may opt to drive (2) - 4-hour sessions (with at least a 15-min break after the first two hours of driving) when scheduling allows.   

Breakdown of Course Fees

​​Your Options:

• Pay a down payment of $155 (Via E-Payment).  This will RESERVE your seat UNTIL the morning of the class.               -OR-
• Pay full fee, $450.00 via Credit or Debit card).  This will GUARANTEE your seat for the class.

​NOTE:  Course Fees not paid in full BEFORE the classroom portion, may be billed separately as follows:
Classroom:  $110
Behind the Wheel:  $340

Please Note:  8 hours of Behind the Wheel Training is an important, State Required part of Driver Education and are included in your course fee. Students must complete the 6 Hour classroom AND the 8 hours BTW portions.

IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS for Course Enrollment:

Please bring your Louisiana TIP Card with you to the Classroom portion, if you do not have the TIP card yet, bring your State Issued ID card.

YOU MUST HAVE THE TIP CARD WITH YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2-HOUR DRIVE SESSIONS.
