Behind-the-Wheel Portion
|
Q: Is the Behind-the-wheel Portion included in the Course Fee?
A: YES, the 8-Hours Behind-the-wheel portion is included in purchase price. Q: Is the Road Test included in the Course Fee? A: NO, the Road Test fee will be paid later when you have completed your 8-Hours Behind-the-wheel portion, and are ready to schedule your Road Test. Q: When will I participate in the Behind the wheel portion? A: Typically ADULT students are scheduled for the Behind-the-wheel portion weekdays, between the hours of 9 am and 3:30 pm. Please be as flexible as you can as students with the greatest flexibility tend to complete the driving portion sooner. Q: I have work or other personal commitments during weekday mornings and afternoons, what are my options? A: If at all possible, make adjustments to your schedule to be able to attend during non-peak hours (morning, and early afternoons on weekdays). In any case, we do work around our students' work and school schedules, as much as possible. Please indicate any strict schedule restrictions, for example, "I am strictly available ONLY after __ pm, or "weekends only", on the "additional info" box at the bottom of the Behind-the-wheel Availability Form. Q: What's the purpose of the Behind-the-wheel Availability Form? A: We will use the form to develop a Tentative BTW schedule for you. The Tentative schedule (x4, 2-hour drive sessions) will then be texted to you (typically within a few days to a week, but can be longer based on availability) after you complete the classroom portion. The dates on the tentative schedule will be the earliest available dates that match the availability you provide to us on your Form. Once the schedule is offered and accepted, it is the responsibility of the student to adhere to the accepted drive schedule, or contact the driving school as far in advance of the drive session as possible to request changes. Q: Is there a deadline for completing the Behind-the-wheel portion? A: Per State of Louisiana guidelines, the final 2-hour session will be scheduled to be completed no later than 90-days after you complete your classroom portion. However, if you complete the Behind-the-wheel portion outside the 90-day window, due to personal or work commitments, the state OMV will not penalize you. See more Info on our FAQ Page.
