DISCLOSURES RE: BEHIND-THE-WHEEL PORTION
Please enroll your teen in one of our Teen Permit courses ONLY with the full understanding of the following disclosures:
Due to various factors, we cannot provide a preliminary date that students will begin participating in the Behind-the-wheel (BTW) portion. Per LA State Guidelines, students will be provided a schedule in which the date of the last 2-hour session will be no later than 120 days from the last day of the classroom portion. It does not always take the full time frame, however, sometimes it does. If the student/parent requires a change after accepting the schedule that pushes the completion date outside the 120 window, this will not affect the student’s certification process, other than the delay as a result of the requested change.
BTW SCHEDULING:
While we do not guarantee availability of particular dates/times, we work around our students' other commitments when possible. Although this is a convenience to parents and teens, it requires time for Northwest to manage. Due to this, as well as other factors, BTW schedules will not be provided immediately after the end of the classroom portion, but will be provided as far in advance of your teen's first drive session as possible. The actual timing varies, due to the aforementioned, and will be determined by Northwest owners/management.
A "tentative schedule" (until it is accepted by the parent), will be texted as far in advance of the first drive session as possible. The notification process will not delay the actual drive dates. We have found that in the long run, this process prevents later scheduling difficulties for both our students and Northwest.
If we are unable to reach parent by text, we will call or email. Parent are responsible for accepting the schedule (or notifying Northwest of desired changes) ASAP for best selection of alternate dates/times.
We do understand that though the process has proven the best approach for Northwest, it may not be suitable for all of our inquiries... due to parents' or students' personal schedules and other commitments. If you choose not to enroll at this time, please check back with us if any thing changes in the future.
Again, we are providing full disclosure of the scheduling process, in order that you will be informed, and also to assist your Teen to remain patient, and prepared to wait his or her turn to participate in the behind-the-wheel portion.
Thank you,
Owner
